About Us
I CAN SCHOOLS is a non-profit, charter school management organization created by the founding leaders of a highly successful, award-winning, urban school in Cleveland, Ohio. The mission of I CAN SCHOOLS is to prepare students for a college preparatory high school that ensures acceptance and graduation from a four year college and/or university. I CAN SCHOOLS is dedicated to providing all students with an education that supersedes standards of excellence. I CAN SCHOOLS currently has two high performing, Kindergarten through Eighth schools in Cleveland, Ohio: Northeast Ohio College Preparatory School and Cleveland College Preparatory School. I CAN SCHOOLS will be adding three more schools to its network in the 2011 – 2012 school year. We are seeking qualified Kindergarten through High School teachers for our Cleveland schools and Kindergarten through Eighth grade teachers for our Akron school.
Teacher Profile
Being a teacher for I CAN SCHOOLS is incredibly rewarding and requires candidates to possess an extraordinarily strong work ethic. A teacher for I CAN SCHOOLS can expect to work extended hours, create and sustain a quality learning environment where high academic and behavioral expectations are the norm, achieve high test scores, and be a healthy addition to a our adult learning communities. We are seeking teachers who will "sweat the small stuff" and have a "no excuses" philosophy. Teachers will be expected to do "whatever it takes" to close the achievement gap. I CAN SCHOOLS teachers must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where accountability and high expectations are upheld at all times.

- Strong instructional and classroom management skills
- Intentional lesson planning that supports academic rigor and student engagement
- Knowledge of content area and/or grade level
- Highly organized and meets deadlines 100% of the time

- Build a healthy relationship with students, parents and colleagues
I CAN SCHOOLS Student Expectations
- Come to school every day on-time and prepared
- Complete homework and attend tutoring if required
- Attend Saturday School if academic deficiencies are observed
- Serve consequences for behaviors that are not scholarly
- Be in complete uniform every day
- Meet above proficient test scores
- Transition silently in all common areas
- Be relentless, serious and focused
Compensation
Compensation packages are considered exceptionally competitive and commensurate with experience. I CAN SCHOOLS offer a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision. Professional development credit hours are offered to all employees each week. Employees participate in the Ohio STRS (state retirement system).
